Guernsey Private Wealth Forum 2022
Purpose
I was tasked with creating the event imagery for Guernsey Finance’s Private Wealth Forum 2022. This included the logo, hero imagery, staging, invites, banners and anything else the events team required.
I also had the pleasure of creating the animated intro for the event. This served double duty as the intro to each section of the event and one of the main pieces of social media marketing.
Process
We decided early on that 3D design was the key to creating something completely unique from the rest of our event offerings. Once the direction was determined on and the logo was complete, it was time to start on the strategy behind the 3D scenes that would form the basis for the imagery of the event.
The key themes of the event were: Sustainability, innovation, next generation, succession planning and technology.
It would be very challenging to incorporate all of these themes into a single image so we prepared numerous pieces of imagery for use at the event and on social media.
After brainstorming for ideas we settled on the pocket watch as a hero asset, since it reinforced the next generation and succession planning elements while also strengthening the connection to the private wealth industry. I set about creating a fully animated 3D watch that subtly incorporated the WAGSY logo.
I then began experimenting with as many different scenes as possible to reinforce the event’s key themes. The primary purpose was for use on social media and event imagery but by creating these scenes, I was able to give myself a considerable head-start on creating the animated intro to the event. Some of them didn’t make the finished product but served as vital proofs of concepts for the planning stages.
Once the storyboard for the sting was completed, the scenes became much more targeted and refined. With a clear story in mind, building towards the finished product became significantly faster. The final compositions and animations quickly fell into place and they were easy to transition between.

Some of the scenes I’d made previously were then used in the pull-up banners and the event imagery. Once everything came together on the day, the effect I’d hoped to create came across wonderfully. Below is a gallery of many of the professionally taken images of the event.
